How Cool Is This?
After going to a friend's basketball game, we all headed over to one of our favorite restuarants. We had put our name in and while waiting we met these wonderful people! Two of the girls just happen to have Down syndrome too. They were so very nice and we absolutely loved talking with them. The girls are on a Cheerleading Squad together and even went to China for the Special Olympics! How exciting! Mattie really took to them and had no problem being passed around. Abby just happen to have her camera so we took a picture of the girls together. What a special moment we won't forget! After finding out Mattie had ds, we were always told you will meet wonderful people along your journey. How true that is!
Of course....I gave them my blog address so if you come visit my blog...please let me know when the girls will be performing. I would love to come and watch!

My Brain is Mush!
It is so sad that I just haven't had a chance to blog or even read anyone else's for that matter. It has been just one of those crazy weeks. Other than being very busy, there just hasn't been much to blog about lately. Kinda boring, huh? I've been so brain dead from all the meetings I've had, report cards going home, and talking with parents.....I just can't even think of anything....nothing.....nadda. It's just empty in there right now. So hopefully my brain mush will go away and this brain will start working again. Then I'll have make time to catch up on everyone's blog this weekend.

Revolve Tour
On Friday, we took the girls from church to the Revolve Tour. What a great time they had! The only thing I'm bummed about is forgetting my memory stick to my camera! So I didn't get any pictures. Thank goodness others had a camera. Here is one picture I bummed from a friend but it doesn't have the whole group.

The Revolve Tour is much like Women of Faith, but for Teen girls. They had Natalie Grant, Hawk Nelson, Group 1 Crew, and other great artists who performed. They also had their drama team and the young boy who started Hoops for Hope. The message was "you may not change the entire world, but can you change the world for one?". How awesome is that! Really when you think of the larger picture it seems impossible or overwhelming for one person to change the entire world. But can you change the world for just one person? Can you imagine all the lives that would be touched if each person just made the difference in one person's life? They also learned if there is one thing they should take away from the tour it was to love and show kindness to everyone. Love yourself, be yourself, and love others. And of course, the girls learned that they can have all Access to God. Check out the video for a short clip about the Revolve Tour.

Weigh-in Monday
O.K I really haven't posted recipes since restarting Weight Watchers again. So here is my first. Maybe I'll do better this week. This is a recipe I came up with on my own, but most of the time I find most of my recipes online. I am not a breakfast person, but I really like this one.
1/2 cup of egg whites
green peppers and fresh tomatoes; chopped
1 small can of mushrooms
3 slices of turkey pepperoni
1/2 oz. of reduced fat cheddar cheese; grated
salt and pepper to taste
Saute peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and pepperoni in a small frying pan with Pam. Season with salt and pepper. Spread veggies in pan and pour egg whites on top. Sprinkle with cheese. Place in the oven and bake at 350 until egg is firm. I then put it on broil for just a minute to brown the cheese a little. mmmmm....good. This recipe only as 140 cal, 3 grams of fat, and 1 fiber. 3 WW points.
This is so easy and you can add or substitute any items like turkey bacon, onions, or whatever you like.
*Weight lost to date......5 pounds!

Look who has a........
TOOTH!!
Mattie got her first tooth the first week of January. What a bad mommy I am just posting about it now. She actually has her second one getting ready to pop through any day now......right beside it. So far her first two teeth are coming in in order. I know with many ds kids they can come in all over the place. I was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to get teeth.
I tried and tried to get a picture of that tooth but never could get one. I came home and found this one on my camera. I'm guessing Ms. Kim took it. Not the best picture of Mattie......but that is one pretty tooth! I hope you can see it.
My Button
So my Very, Very Great Friend, Tracey from 4 my 3 suns, made a button for me to add to my blog. That was so nice since I have no idea how to make one and would never take the time to do it. So Thank You, Thank You, Thank You dear friend! Here it is!!! Feel free to grab and add :-)

Time-Out for Mattie
Lately, since Mattie has been on the move, she loves this corner. She will crawl over, sit up and just sit there. Sometimes she sings, talks, and hits the wall. Today she crawled over and sat there quietly for at least 20 minutes. She was as happy as could be. I do believe she'd still be sitting there if I hadn't picked her up. She looks like she is putting herself in time-out. Too funny!

The Not So Brilliant Award.......
goes to Me!!! This is pretty much how it played out this evening. I'm cooking dinner....MMmmmm....broccoli Cheese soup. My recipe from Weight Watchers. I knock over the pencil sharpener that happens to be on the counter. It breaks so I decide to super glue it back together while my soup is simmering. Of course, I had to get the glue all over my fingers and it is now driving me crazy......is that why they call it crazy glue? It doesn't stop there. I go back to making my soup. I begin adding in the rest of the ingredients. It calls for cornstarch. No problem. Got that. Finish the soup. We all sit down to eat. I'm thinking boy this soup taste sweet. Must be the onions because nothing else could be sweet. Then it hits me. It wasn't cornstarch.....it was powdered sugar! We all just started laughing. What a stupid mistake. And you ask.....How could that happen? Don't you know how to read? The cornstarch box got wet sometime back and so I put it in a ziploc bag. When I was making cookies over the holidays, I put powdered sugar in a ziploc bag to shake the pecan balls. The bag must have gotten thrown into the cabinet instead of getting tossed. I then grabbed the wrong bag and presto.......Sweetened Broccoli Cheese Soup. Needless to say, it was gross and got tossed. I accept my award with great pleasure!

This is Not a New Year's Resolution
I really dislike New Year's resolutions. It seems as though I just am setting myself up for failure. Every year it is almost always losing weight and exercising more. This is also the most common resolution for most of the women I know. Well...it seems like I always struggle with weight and each year I make the same resolution.
Well, two years ago, I decided NOT to make a resolution. Then a friend asked me to attend a Weight Watchers meeting with her. She wanted to try it, but didn't want to do it alone. I thought why not give it a try. This was not a New Year's resolution, but just being there for a friend. Well, I loved it! I lost every single week. By May, I had lost 32 pounds and was feeling great. It was the easiest weight loss, I had ever had. Weight Watchers works! Then.........I became pregnant! Surprise...Surprise! Here I go again. Every time I get pregnant, have the baby......I gain back the weight and hold on to it for about a year.
I can't use the "I just had a baby excuse anymore." I find myself really wanting to take off this weight. I felt so great dropping the pounds and I have so many spring clothes that I can't wear. I've decided I am NOT making a New Year's resolution but simply starting Weight Watchers again. The only difference is that I really can't afford to attend the meetings so I am going to do this on my own. I have the points calculator and my books. The hardest part I think is holding myself accountable to the weigh-ins. I'm thinking about letting hubby be my weigh-in person.
I do have a lot of friends who are going to do Weight Watchers too, on their own. And one, who will be attending meetings. Anybody doing WW or know of an online blog support group? I'm thinking the more the support the better. My goal is to share one recipe a week on my blog and any tips that work for me. Feel free to join the fun!
